ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Associate Membership as an Expedition Assistant is earned following successful completion of the Farmaðr (Outdoor Leadership) online course provided by Áskunnr Gunnarskólinn (The School of Wilderness) or any other online course or training program approved by FJELLMENN and provided by a FJELLMENN Expedition Leader.
Upon successful completion of your application for Associate Membership, you will be issued an Associate Membership certificate as Expedition Assistant, together with an exclusive FJELLMENN patch.

MEMBERSHIP Requirements
Full Membership as an Expedition Leader requires the sponsorship of two FJELLMENN members. These mountain men are to mentor you and to train you until you meet FJELLMENN stringent standards. These Mountain Men will ultimately decide whether you qualify for membership in the Northern Explorers Guild.
TRAINING AND MENTORSHIP
Once you have earned your FJELLMENN Expedition Assistant certification and Associate Membership, you may request to be connected with one of our Mountain Men in your area, for further training and mentorship.
Note that any training and mentorship remains at the discretion of any individual FJELLMENN member, and becoming an Expedition Assistant does not guarantee further training or full membership in the Northern Explorers Guild of Fjellmenn as an Expedition Leader.
